April 25, 2026 Results
On Saturday, April 25, 2026, 271 middle school debaters from 17 schools competed in the CT Middle School Debate League’s last tournament of this season. Students debated the prep-ahead motion: This House would make buses in New York City free; and the extemporaneous motions: This House, believes that grades in U.S. public elementary and middle schools should be Pass/ Fail, and This House, as an average middle class American adult, would go vegan. 58 volunteer judges made the day possible. In the Championship division, Riya Pendse from Middlebrook MS in Wilton was the first place speaker. The Middlebrook team of Dobson, Pendse & Shim took the first place team award.
In the Open division, Max Epstein from Greenwich Country Day School was the first place speaker. The Eastern MS, Greenwich team of Singh, Tiwana & Bhatia took the first place team award.
