April 25, 2026 Championship & Open Tournament
Saturday, April 25, 2025, 8:00 – 4:30
Central Middle School, 9 Indian Rock Lane, Greenwich, CT 06830
Sponsored by The English Speaking Union, Greenwich Branch
On behalf of Central Middle School and Coach Francis Norris-Oliva, the CTMSDL invites you to the final event of the 2025-26 season. There are 2 divisions for this tournament: Championship and Open. Championship division is for debaters who placed 1-15 as an open level speaker or open level team member at a previous tournament this season. Open is for all other debaters (new, novice, open).
Round 1 will be an extemporaneous round for both divisions. Both divisions will debate This House would make buses in New York City free for rounds 2 & 3. Awards will be given to the top 5 teams and speakers in both divisions.
Please review the June 2024 Handbook.
Coaches should register ASAP on Tabroom.com for the event CTMSDLApr25 if they haven’t already. You may edit your teams up until 9:00 am April 25. Tabroom instructions are here. Championship teams must include 3 members. Schools may enter 2-person open level teams only if they can’t form a 3-person team (for example, 8 open debaters must be entered as 2 teams of 3 and 1 team of 2, not as 4 2-person teams). Debaters must intend to compete in all 3 rounds.
Coaches must register one judge per every 2 teams entered. Register your most experienced judges in the championship division. Please try to cover all of your entries with trained judges. Coaches should make sure their judges understand the information in the Judges’ Instructions the Handbook prior to the event. CTMSDL will provide free breakfast and lunch for judges.
Observers are welcome but Central is small so we’d like to keep observers to a minimum.
